Title: Throttle wire length, K1100RS vs K1100LT?
Post by: ChristSFP on September 07, 2015, 01:58:38 PM
Need a longer throttle wire.. I can't find any reliable source online.. is the throttle wire longer on the LT version and if so, how much? I need about 10 cm...

Also, on a sidenote, also need a longer break hose, the upper part.. Is this longer on the LT?

Thanks

There are only two lengths of throttle bowden cable. One is the base one, which is 99.3 cm long (part # 32731457014). The other is for "high bars" and is 111 cm long (part # 32731457016). If you've got the base length, you could try the high bars cable, but if you've already got the longer cable I think you're out of luck unless you can find something from another bike.

If you need more length, you might try routing the cable differently.  Normally it goes through the delta section between the triple tree and frame rails along with all the other wiring.  I needed more length and routed the cable between the radiator and frame.  Gained a few cm because the routing was more direct.
