is the rear tire size 140/70/17 too small for 1985 K100 with Y rim, I know Avon Azaro's size is 140/80/17 and some people use it.

Use this link and put in the stock size tire, or what you are currently running and the 140/70-17 for caparison.

Sorry don't see the link that you refer to, trying to find out if anyone ever put 140/70/17 rear tire on Y rim vs 140/80/17 Avon Azaro on Y rim since Avon Azaro is rare now and some sellers jack up the price. What I understand is the width should fit (140), but the height 70 vs 80 is okay? thanks.

The lower profile of the tire makes little difference. I put a 140/70-17 on My spare 3 spoke 3" wide rim with no issues at all. Tire diameter is about 6% less the speedo is off and it takes more RPM's than before to reach a cruising speed
