Not that I want to spend any more money,....but I sure don't want to get this opened up again. With the clutch out, is there other stuff I should check while parts are on the bench? Of course splines were also the motivation. I was thinking about alternator brushes. Can they just be changed out simple owner job?
Bike has about 85K on it as best I can tell. (speedo was broke for awhile)

If you have the clutch out, I would replace the rear engine seal, if it is not now leaking it will soon, and as long as you are in there. I am sure there is a "how to" on this site. I had the seals on my Tranny replaced, but then I am anal, it cost about $265, but my guy is really cheap, but you might think about it. Starter brushes for sure. Not sure about Alternator brushes, I have never replaced them. Of course lube everything when it goes back together.
Fun times!!
