Hi, I just purchased a 96 K1100RS with ABS. When I turn the ignition on only the right abs light flashes...nothing on the left one. Checked the bulb and it's ok. Did a reset and right light still flashes.
Reset plug on ABS unit. Same solitary light flashing. Any suggestions??

Welcome!
You should hear a relay clicking in the relay box....in the same sequence as the functioning lamp.
If not check that the relay is present and funtioning correctly.
In the relay box you have 6 small relays of the same size, the rear left is for the warning lamp
and is the only relay that is blue.....this is a NC relay.

Thanks, I'll check it out

I just bought a 1997 K1100LT with the right-hand only ABS light flashing. Did you ever resolve your problem?

Hi John
I recently purchased a 96 k1100RS. Both ABS lights were not flashing. I checked the fuse box and the blue abs relay was missing and the bulb on the right was burnt out. On the relay block there was a plastic plug where one of the relay prongs would plug into. I removed the plug, replaced the bulb and installed the relay.....the relay clicks and ABS light on the right flashes but nothing on the left side. So I still have the problem .

There is more drama to the ABS saga than I first imagined. I have seen more than one account where the lights have been disabled to sell to an gullible buyer. I now have found that my ABS warning relay was removed hence only the right light was flashing. Replacing temporally with a NO relay confirms that at least this part or the system is working. I have now ordered the correct NC relay so I can proceed with a less confusing diagnosis. What I need is a list of classic failure modes to check. I'm sure there is info out there; I was thinking before that my problem was unique relating to a single light flashing. I'll report later. Please do the same.

My bike has been stored for the winter and so I haven't had a chance to look at the ABS problem. I hope to do some more when the weather warms up and I'll make a new post to that effect.
