Good morning gentlemen.
I am looking to replace my fuel pump on my K75S 1990 model. It is running but the fuel seems to be going straight out the relief valve at the bottom of the pump. Can the relief valve be blocked up? or do I need to look at something else?
What after market pump needs to be fitted?
Thanks
Charlie

I've been running a fuel pump for a Ford Escort since 2008 no problems. Here is info from the Lieberry...

Charles, I'm in Canada and sourced one of these pumps out of the US for about $30US. I was able to repair my OEM pump so I've just kept the new one as a spare. It will require some jigging to fit it into the in-tank holder but I'm not about to pay $300 + for a fuel pump on a bike I paid $1400 for, especially since people have had good luck with much cheaper alternatives.

this pump available for 16 dollars.........I purchased one just to carry around!

So does the SKU: HFP-439B also work on the K75S?

There are a number of ebay sellers who are selling new fuel pump kits that they have put together for the K bikes.

charles, et all, it's an electric fuel pump, hence: e, fp, hp prefix. the 2042 search will bring up airtex, carquest, purolator and many others. believe pump is primarily for ford application: escort, taurus and others. a google search of 2042 fuel pump will yield a ton of hits and many choices. there may be issues with diameter of pump versus diameter of mounting bracket/ring but some creative foam and zip-tie applications will overcome those issues, be sure components used will withstand constant submersion in gasoline.

I changed mine, crank no start?
I have spark, see fuel on plugs and it spins fast
Need to check fuel pressure and compression next
I bought the carter pump shown in this link
http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1991/jeep/wrangler/fuel_delivery/fuel_pump.html
Any ideas , cannot find pressure spec

did it start/run before you changed the fuel pump?
if yes, do you have new pump wired correctly, wrong polarity will make pump spin in reverse rotation.
just a thought.

Bought bike with Previous owners issues
Dont even know whole story how it stopped.
I got it all going seemed to have ground issues and also found starter Relay with lose conenctions and just to make sure made ground wire between tank and battery.
Ran great after I got all that sorted, ran until warm, drained old oil, went for a buzz for 12 miles to a friends house
Was so good at 80, had to be careful.
I sold my last k75 more than a year ago, forgot how good they felt, this motor seems stronger than my 92 k75s
This one is an 86 , it has 2 18 inch wheels 80's and feel very diff than the old 92, I also put 80 series on it.
Make them so much more solid on turns, now I need right side switches to get it 100%
