Has anyone ever come up with a definitive cure for the bouncing gauges on the K75Ss? As far as I know the S-model is the only K75 with the bounching gauges as I had a 1995 K75A/3 and the gaugues were rock tight.

Cute plush toy, not too large, stuffed between windscreen & cluster. I posted a pic in a thread somewhere here. The stolen Tigger has been replaced with a 'see no evil' monkey.

heavy foam weatherstrip between the fairing and housing. I also have tried a length of fuel line under the bottom of the housing, stuffed between weight and bracket. That worked pretty good, if you happen to have the fairing off. I had it mounted solidly for a couple of years with a custom set up with no ill effects.

So, yes, it is an old thread... and also an old problem. No, it's really not the auto self-modulating headlight safety option.
Alas, my 'nakey bike' has no fairing to cushion against. It is finally making it to the top of the to-do list and I will have a definite fix over the winter (don't know exactly what it is yet). But it will have to do with taking up the extra space in the groove of 2 rubber grommets (low and behind the headlight) that hold the bottom of the light/instrument cluster.

I had a standard '95 K75 and never had that problem. In fact it was hands down the tightest and most rattle free bike I ever had. I thought this problem was just with the K75Ss?

Thanks for this thread. I just got my K75s a few days ago and put 800 miles on getting it home (arrived a few hours ago). The bouncing gauges were bugging me.

OK! I know it's old, but... I finally got to it...!! :clap:
So, there are 4 rubber grommets that isolate the instrument cluster from the forks (and also hold the weight of the headlight & directionals on the non-faired bikes). The groove on the 2 lower grommets that fits the panel has somehow worn to .040" wider than the upper 2 and REALLY sloppy in the panel. They aren't dried out, dry rotted or hard, but they sure are sloppier than the upper 2. This lets the gauges and headlight bounce enough to sometimes make oncoming traffic think I'm flashing the brights at them. I'm going to try and match up a commercial size (about $.45 each) before I drop $13.00 each to the dealer. Will follow up soon.

for vibration isolation and attenuation as it pertains to motobricking... i use a cocktail of foam tape cork tape and electrical tape...
note... not recommended for air heads oil heads or any variety of r moto... so read your 7 year old google search pdf carefully... especially if it costs hunderts of euros...

true, Laitch. Toys R Us is even closer, but alas, the standard has no windscreen to cram said animal against. Besides, I've heard monkeys can have a nasty bite. Although that may be a theft deterrent...I'll have to ask the insurance company :hehehe

On serious note - my gauge and headlight is bouncing too much. Will get into it soon, "stuffing the monkey" only as a last resort.

Scud, your headlight should not be bouncing. Could be one of the bolts holding it in backed out. Damn S fairings always have loose screws somewhere.

Thanks Chaos - It got worse on my recent trip to Phoenix. I need to take the whole front end apart soon anyway, for cleaning, upgrading, etc. I noticed that one of the fairing panels had been repaired/repainted - so I think I may be swapping some better bits from my parts bike.
