Title: Turn signal buzzing
Post by: Andrewck on April 19, 2015, 09:49:01 AM
I replaced the headlight of my bike with a new incandescent light and replaced the front turn signals with LED bulbs. The bike has functioned normally for about a year now since doing the conversion. The other week, I purchased an LED taillight/license plate/turn signal combo for the rear. I hooked all the wiring up and when I turn the bike on, I get a buzzing/whining noise while it's running. If I unplug the turn signals and leave the taillight hooked up with the incandescent rear signals, there is no problem.

What is going on with my bike? I assume the starter relay is fine as the problem only occurs when all electronics are hooked up to LED. Do I just need load resistors for the rear flashers? Do I need load resistors for everything that uses an LED bulb? :mbird

I would say you have 2 options...
Load resistors for the turn signals, or modify your turn signal module(located in the relay box).
In this thread here:

you can build your own as Duck did or you can modify your existing one as per Inge's suggestion in the last post.

OK, so Inge K. states to cut next to the red dot.  My flasher relay board does not look like his.  Any idea what I cut??

I posted this on a couple of threads, but it worked perfectly.  All LED signals are blinking like OEM...though a lot brighter.  Brilliant!
