Title: tachometer sticky
Post by: gazman on March 27, 2015, 03:04:19 AM
Greetings, so sometimes my tacho sticks in a random spot. Then later it works again. Any hints, tips or advice? :dunno

Look closely, ofter the faceplate warps and the needle will rub against it causing it to stick.  Taking it apart and shimming it, pulling the needle out a little or replacing the faceplate are options.

Mine does that too when the faceplate is exposed to direct sunlight for a length of time.  One of these days I will get to it.

Mine did that.  Took it apart, the face plate is warped.  I removed a very small screw, lifted the face plate up and smooth it back down.  The screw hole had to be enlarged to get the screw back in.  Seems like the face plate plastic is ever expanding and warps.

It was an easy job.

Got one of those too. Might fix it someday.  :yes
