Title: K100RS Seat Pivot Repair
Post by: RobP on March 21, 2015, 02:09:52 PM
I have just started an R&R on a barn-find 85 K100RS.  I have not owned one of these before.

The seat pivot pin is broken off.  What's needed here - a pin with a backwards 'Z' bend welded on?  Is the open end threaded for a nut or is it just a pin?

It is just a straight pin, grooved for a circlip but mine has never had a circlip since I bought it.

greetings robp...

welcome to motobrick.com...

those before you have either bent up and welded a smooth rod on there... or welded a threaded rod on there and nutted the  end holding the seat on... mine broke off a couple years ago... im gonna ride it till the seat falls off... butts the threaded rod and nut is what i would do if i was gonna fixt it...

Here's some photo's of my '97LT. Yours may be similar, but you will at least get the idea of the design and dimensions.
