Enjoying my recent "92 K75s and discovered a small [thumbnail sized] blob of what smells like gear oil under the engine. with that belly plastic I really can't see where it's coming from. I purchased a new shock [465] and a new windscreen which I had planned on installing today. should this take a priority. Where should I be looking for the leak. Is this something I can put off 'till it gets worse, or should this be addressed asap? I searched but didn't come up with anything, so I'm sure this has ben previously addressed if someone could point me in the right direction. thanks

If it's coming from the telltale drain hole under the clutch, it's probably the gearbox input shaft seal.
Check the level in the gearbox, that it isn't overfilled.
When to change the seal is up to you......but it ain't gonna leak less, if you wait and see..........

If it is the input seal letting it go MAY cost you a new clutch pack if the oil saturates the plate.
If it were me, I'd pull the belly pan, clean up the entire area, put it on the center stand and run it for a bit to confirm where it's leaking.

clean up around that hole real good...
slide a tampon in the hole... not one of those old lady tampons... butts one of those juvenile hawtty tampons...
put that moto on the centerstand... run it through the gears... let it idle till the fan comes on... run it through the gears... turn it off...
let it sit for 2 days... then inspect the string for lube... if you gotts lube dripping from the string you gotts a leaker...
a drip ready to drop with no clutch slippage can proally make it a while... a drip already droped on the ground and you proally bests read up on clutch and seal replacement...

got under there with a flashlight, the fluid appears to be dripping from the trans drain plug, or farther up? I cleaned it off real good and I'll run it , maybe I can see better where it is seeping from.

I had it up on the center stand to warm it up and run it through the gears, and at idle [in gear ] I could feel and hear a soft clunking coming from the rear wheel gear, it seemed to disappear if I brought the rpms up. is this normal?

all i can hear is the engine...
i ride with earplugs so i caint hear any whack... if i do hear whack in the garage or on the road i ignore it...

Sounds normal. Mine has sounded the same since bought new. RPM just low as probably not warmed up, or idle set too low.

Sounds about normal. That said, have you checked the final drive's fluid level?

Sounds pretty good to me, on my bike all you hear at idle to about 2 grand is the clanking and banging of the engine output shaft anti-backlash gear. I drowns out the exhaust note!
Check the clutch cable adjustment with the engine off. Pull in the clutch and let the lever snap back. Listen for the arm at the lower end to hit the muffler with a clank. If it does, adjust the cable so it doesn't, and then do the bolt and nut adjust to get everything else the way it should be. I had this on my bike and it took a couple months before I found it. The 75mm spec for the cable is about 3-4mm too long for some K75's for some reason. I am not the only one who had that noise.
If it really bothers you, pull the drive shaft, lube the splines, and check the universal joint at the front end for slop or notchiness. Then you'll know that everything is cool back there.

checked the final drive oil. looks to be overfilled. according to my haynes manual it sshould not be above the threads and it is. but I do not see any oil being blown out and getting on the tire or brake
. Good news, it appears the tranny oil is seeping out the drain plug. I tightened it a hair, if that doesn't solve it, I guess a new washer is in order?
