Let's face it, the K instrument clusters are big and heavy and bouncy. They do have a retro appeal, at least to me, and they actually do a good job displaying info.
I've thought about replacing the instrument cluster with a digital interface but I'm not convinced it's worth the hassle or expense. Lowering them a couple of inches would improve the bike's aesthetic, and on my bike there is room behind the aftermarket windscreen.
It looks to me that lowering my K75 cluster would be fairly easy with a couple of machined aluminum blocks. (Pardon my 3D illustration skills) Bolt the top holes to existing fork clamp threads, and bolt the instrument cluster to the bottom holes.
Anybody see a problem with this or know of an existing solution?

for a couple years, after smashing my tupperware on a deer, I had my pod mounted solidly on a bracket off the handlebar risers on my S. No ill effects from not having a bouncy mount.

Nice, Chaos.
Here what I came up with this afternoon. This puts the instruments about 3" lower.
Going on a longish ride tomorrow so we'll see how it holds up. I'm mostly concerned about headwinds with the windscreen being 3" lower.
