Title: Tank fairing
Post by: PiotrK100 on January 04, 2015, 10:13:03 AM
Hi again :yes
A lot of free days in this tricky country so gives opportunity to look for brick parts. Now, I found the tank fairing (part number 16112308660) which will fits my project very much but that plastic fairing are for models from 1988 and mine is 1985. So the question is it that will fit it or not? If not, why? What changes has to be done to adopt that? I hope tank remains in shape

I'm not so shure about that, this cover is meant to be used together with the low seat....I think it ain't
gonna function together with a ordinary seat.

So it seems that you also need the low seat........then you also need a lot of mounting parts for the low
seat .........the mounting parts could come in conflict with the tank mount, as you have a early model.

I don't say it's impossible to mount this cover.....but it won't be just plug and play.....and you could end
with a final result that looks a lot different from what you have imagined.

EDIT: And also the low seat is used together with the newer version ducktail than the one on your model.

That may be, as looks to beautifull to be truth. But, Im doing a project so seat will be changed totally as well. Have no idea how much and what direction (with seat) will go but definitely will shrink it. It still remains two person seat but now is to big. Do you have any information what is the diffrence between oridinary seat and the lower ones (I know is 2 inches lower)? Appart from the seat, will this fairing fits the tank without problem? All comments will be welcommed.
