My son lives in Portland. Do you get to ride much because of all the rain? Welcome to the farm. These guys have been very helpful for me.

Hello MCrenshaw,
Thanks for the response
Yeah, I manage to ride year round....there are only a few days a year that are not safe to ride (ice on the ground).
With the RT fairing, all I have to do is keep moving and I don't even need waterproof gear in a heavy downpour. :riding: So, I guess it depends on the bike and the guy for that matter. Some folks prefer not to ride even when its just cold :dunno
I just did a big round of maintenance for winter...
-new shock
-new fork, gearbox, final drive, and motor oils
-new tires
I took Frankenduck's suggestions on oils and the bike is shifting smoother than ever
Also, I took his advice on off sized Avon radials; it's amazing, the bike is handling SOOOOOOO much better. love it :ba:
cheers,

Welcome, my son also lives in Tigard!
Yeah and we ride in the rain, or should I say what rain, it is only misting today, or scattered showers, or light rain, or occasional thundershowers.......need I say more??
But with RT fairings, you can ride unless there is snow and stay warm and fairly dry.
Welcome again!!

Nice bike and good story about how you ride her......20k miles of fun in a short time...
Please clarify: "off size tires" and specifics of Frankenduck's oil recommendations, or provide links if you can.
