Hi all.
I was originally looking for an 1100LT, but an RS came up for sale in great condition, that I just couldn't let go.
I thought I'd just get used to the leaned forward riding position, but I am finding it uncomfortable, as is my Wife who feels a little exposed looking over the top of my lid.
So my question is, has anyone found a handlebar that raises the RS riding position to more upright.
I'm guessing whatever I do I'll have to get longer brake / clutch and choke leads.
Has anyone swapped out for the LT handlebar ?
If I do the conversion, then inevitably, a high screen will be needed, and I would appreciate any pointers on this too.
I don't hate the sportier riding position, but I do think it would be neat to be able to easily switch between two configurations depending on what the bike is being used for,
Any advice gratefully received.

I have nothing specific to suggest...you may want to check out this site for a show of posture of specific heighted individuals on many different bikes.

I have found it is not just the handlebars that make up for comfort, but also leg position...If my legs are hunched up like a nearly closed jack knife then I am quite uncomfortable...
Additionally, I have sometimes used the "image" feature on google and check for "Risers for BMW on ............" where the .......... would be the model number, for example K75 or R1100rt for my two bmws..
Also, try ebay.

if you do not like the rs lean forward... there aints nothing you can do abouts it... new bars seats pegs windshields aints the answer... a different moto is...

It's not that I don't like it.
It's just that over very long distances, it's a bit uncomfortable for me.
The rest of the time, it's fine.
I disagree with you.
I see no reason why it can't be done.
I've actually seen an RS in a dealers with a really nicely executed high rise set up and tall screen.
Unfortunately, the dealers didn't even realise it had been changed from OE spec, so couldn't help.

Well there is the second hand option here of course.
Anyway, been doing a bit of searching on the subject, and uncovered the following photo, which sadly came with no information, although it's safe to say in this case, the change in bars had no adverse effect on handling

I'm sure every body is different. I actually wondered if I would get used to my RS. I did, and was able to ride her over 2000 miles to Cali. About 400+ miles/day without any one part of my body aching. I do think a more up right position would help around town, but I bend my bones to the machine. I'm 53yrs 5'11". I admit, the form of almost "strap-ons" handle bars makes her look slick

First post, so excuse me while I jump right in.
Those of us who dirt bike know about these bar risers, and the other day I saw them on a Suzuki V-twin, so they are being used on the street.

Oh, and BTW, the guy had used 1-1/8 Pro-Taper dirt bike bars! So they make these thing for the larger bars as well. Kinda cool if you asked me.
