Title: What kind of shock?
Post by: The Mighty Gryphon on September 15, 2014, 10:53:10 AM
Just bought a '92 K100RS.  Nice bike, good price.  PO and I cannot identify the rear shock.  Looks aftermarket with black body, white single rate spring.

If you could get a us a closer picture it might help a bit. :yes

It looks like a Fox Twin Clicker from here.

Does it have an external reservoir?  Does that res. have an adjustment knob?  Is there a knob at the base of the shock?  (those 2 knobs are what gives it it's name).  Check out the Fox TC thread in the library http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=3434.0 (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=3434.0)

If it still has a sticker, it should be on the res.  Mine was pretty beat up, but you could make out that it was a Fox.  It looks like there is a hose at the top of the shock?  That should lead you to the res.

If it is a TC, be careful with the bottom clicker as they seem to get over tightened and that sticks the adjuster needle into the shock shaft.  Mine was like that and IIRC someone that posted in the library thread.
