I there a source for the foam style handlebar grip on a K75 S? Or are they long gone. My throttle grip is in good shape but the left side is deteriorating. Any suggestions for other options? I did a search but did not find any info.
Any help would be appreciated.

Grab ons work well, I had to trim the length on mine but they hold up. Cut the old ones off with a knife and use soapy water to get the new ones on http://www.bikebandit.com/grab-on/00yk8c6 (http://www.bikebandit.com/grab-on/00yk8c6)

+1 to grab ons. I like them.

Thanks guys, those look like they will do nicely. Will order a set.
Chaos is the paint job on your ural similar to that of your S? I like it.
-
Another +1, my favorite grips and the puppies work great too. :2thumbup:

I got a pair of the "inferior copies" of the grip puppies on eprey for $10 and change w/free shipping. 6,000 miles now and they still work great.

Hit a deer with the K and smashed the bodywork. Found an "S" fairing cheap but it had a horrid rattlecan paint job. The cameo covers up a multitude of sins. My Ural is what they call "forest fog" a matte green-grey-olive depending on the light. Very cool color.

The Ural looks great. Nice color. Is the "gear up" the one that both rear wheels drive? I have driven a side car rig a couple of times, both BMWs, really enjoyed it. Wish I could afford one but I does not seem to be in the cards right now. There were a couple of Urals on island the summer before last but I have not seen any lately. I particularly like the Ural rig with the box instead of a chair, it would be great for service calls.

The Gear Up and the Patrol have 2wd, but there is no differential so you only engage it in snow, mud or dirt. Great for doing donuts in the winter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjpeKuRDnfk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjpeKuRDnfk)

I put these on all my K's. Progrip 714. Thicker and softer than stock, without needing a overgrip wrap.

I have them on my RS now and put them on two of my other Bricks. Very comfortable, and easy on the throttle hand with just enough friction to allow a light grip. Really nice grips.

+1 on the 714's I've tried foam and Progrip waffle, but the 714's are the best so far.
Regards Martin.

I have heated grips that's why I'm going with the overgrip. It's a cheap alternative, too.
-
I use ProGrip 699. They're skinnier than the 714s and work well with heated grips. A prior owner put Grab Ons on my K1600. Those seem fine but I still prefer the 699s that I have on my other Ks.
Aerosol hairspray works well to install grips. Works as a lube to get the grips on and then sets up. But it's not as sticky as "real" grip glue so it's easier to get the grips off if you ever need to. Learned about this trick from the old hands over at ADV.
-
Getting old grips off: If they're open end then you can stick an ice pick under the grip and then rotate all of the way around to break the grip glue bond. Then you can work the grip off.

Progrip 714s work great with heated grips. Over grip style things decrease the effectiveness of heated grips. BTDT.

Dang, those are cheap, too. I have bar ends, also. So I will have to research if they are available. I received my foam overgrips today. What's the best method for getting them to stretch. They need to stretch a fair amount to get over the end of the grip. I have removed the bar end.

Here's one way, and it's likely what you'll need to do. Start at 1:43.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq2kPtsJKiU&t=119s (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq2kPtsJKiU&t=119s)
