Title: Hi from the south coast
Post by: Number14 on August 10, 2014, 05:40:17 AM

Just picked up a 1988 K100RT for commuting duties.

Almost 94k on the clock and the engine runs nice. The body work is lean with that DIY respray look but it wasn't bought for appearances.

The first 200 mile ride home on a mix of fast A roads and motorway returned 53 (UK) mpg which bodes well for future gentle use of the right wrist.

Now to go shopping for new tyres ....

Welcome aboard and your bike seems to be serving you well in the fuel consumption front....You'll sort out the
upgrades and making-it-yours improvements over time, I imagine...My own bike is a "five footer" in appearance and
someday I may have it nicely repainted, but for now I am satisfied that it is still handsome enough for me.

Hi :2thumbup:

53mpg is reasonable, my 75 averages around the same...

For tyres, I recently used tyreleader.co.uk myself with no issues at all, and oponeo.co.uk get decent reviews too - even if you have to pay a fitting charge (if you can't fit yourself) they still work out loads cheaper than shop ordering.

Which part of the south coast are you on?

Thanks for the tyre links.

I'm smack in the middle between Soutampton and Portsmouth.
