Title: Beachcomber here - just found you guys
Post by: beachcomber on July 15, 2014, 05:16:26 AM
Hi Guys,

Beachcomber here - I've been playing with Airheads and Kays for over 10 years now, since I retired from my business of designing and manufacturing replica sports cars [ Porsche, Jag, Cobra .]

One of my old RAM shocker customers over on the K11OG forum pointed me in this direction and I'll post up the relevant product discounts for forum members.

Some years ago I develped the RAM alloy bodied shocker together with my pal at Realm Engineering Ltd [www.realmengineering.com ] who manufacture C and D type Jag replicas.

When I sold up my business in 2000, I found I had time on my hands to get back to my lifelong hobby of bikes, and after a brief flirtation with Airheads [ Cafe Racers ], I got into Kays big time.

I've been posting for many years now on th K11OG and Flying Brick sites  - but like I said - just found you guys.

Thanx Duncan,

yes - the advice on 4-5 clicks is a starting point only. Anyone riding their bikes hard [ ie not touring ! ] will need higher numbers. Also depends on many things like rider / passenger weights, type of roads, etc.

The shocker was comprehensively tested on track day circuits during the development period [ 12 months ] and we found that no more than 11 clicks were needed for the best circuit times. The shocker was tested against a new OEM shocker and 2 comparable aftermarket makes.

Ben Kingham [ B.E.A.R.S. Champion 2013 ] uses our RAM shock and requires only mild tweaking circuit to circuit - nothing like racing to test the product !!
