Hey Everyone,
I'm converting my k100 to a paralever to fit bigger wheel/tire. I've seen k1/k1100/k100rs4v paralever drives put on but the k1200 and r1100 are cheap for me to get. I plan on getting the swingarm and paralever with matching drive shafts for whichever configuration I get.
My Question is: Is the gearbox to driveshaft connection the same for all BMW driveshafts? i.e. will a 1200 driveshaft fit on a k100 gearbox?

I've not seen either one, but I would think that it would come down to the spline count.
I have read that there are different spline count's, but I can't say what year/model that the changes took place.
You may just want to have a pictures taken so you can count before you buy?

All of the K's should be the same at least. I'm not as sure about the R bikes. Scott has a good point, a picture is a good double check.
What is the ratio of your rear end on your k100? I might want to buy that off of you, I'd like something higher than my K's 3.2:1. Ideally the 2.9:1

I'd have to see whats stamped on the side but it should be 2.81

Awesome. I need to check with Bruno's machine shop about using a rebuilt shaft with a stock FD.

I'll sell you the drive shaft too if you like

Look up the drive shaft number for a late model k1100rs and run it through REALOEM to see what else it fits..
K1200 FD's have a high failure history It is my understanding that it is because they changed from a 16 ball bearing to a 12 ball bearing in the FD.

Thats good to know Keith, thanks
It looks like its not going to fit unless I put in a 1200 gearbox anyway. Better off with the 1100
