Title: Loose Rear BRake Rotor
Post by: jfox855 on June 16, 2014, 11:54:10 AM: I'm new to the forum and new to a 1995 K75 although I've owned some R bikes in the past. My rear brakes sometimes make a bad sound, so I know they need some work and haven't had time yet to address it, but I've noticed the rear rotor is slightly loose with some some play side to side. Any ideas what's up? I want to know what to look for before I pull the caliber.

Post by: rbm on June 16, 2014, 01:28:36 PM: K75 rear disk should not have play. It's not floating. There are two screws that secure the rotor to the final drive hub. They serve only to fix the disk in place. The real securing of the rotor happens when the rear wheel is fastened.

If the rotor has play, it may be a problem with the rivets.

i saw a guy say his rotor was loose... he had the rear wheel off and was rotating it forward and backward about 2 inches... see what i mean... theres some whack going on out there...

there will be a tiny bit of play left to right in the early stages of final drive failure... i of course have never heeded the warning and simply rode it till i couldnt hang onto it any longer... i have been whacking the throttle 2up for all 3 of my final drive failures... its a character builder...

need more info...
