K75's have a steering dampener built into the steering head, the infamous "fluid bloc"  The only ones I've seen on k100s were when they were  used as sidecar tugs.

K1 and K100RS16V also have a steering damper as standard, but also got a Marzocchi fork and other triple trees.

Interesting -- I've considered getting a k100 to pull a sidecar instead of a K75 thinking the extra power would be a plus, all other things being more or less equal. But you're saying the 2v K100 has no stock steering damper while the k75 does? That's pretty huge -- I think I'd rather have the steering damper than the extra cylinder for my hack.

My understanding was the K100 didn't need the dampener, but when they chopped a cylinder off to make the k75 the lighter weight on the front necessitated one.  The K75 dampener is non adjustable, basically a fixed rubber sleeve around the steering stem with a very thick silicon grease providing the friction dampening.  The K100 would make a better tug though you may have to add an external dampener.
