Title: motor stalls on idle
Post by: grant71 on May 26, 2014, 01:10:05 PM
hello everyone. greetings from Capetown. my K100RS runs beautifully. a great pleasure to ride. however in the last few weeks 2 new occurances. 1st, on braking rather sharply from a reasonable speed the engine stalls. it starts right away once starter button is pressed. 2nd the engine stalls on idle when stopped at the lights . this happens now and then for no reason. very occasionally. fires up again after 2 or 3 start attempts. yesterday morning my bike was idling on about quarter choke while i locked the garage door. Stalled twice. after that she ran well. any ideas

My 1st suggestion would be check the fuel filter, then check for vacuum leaks.

Yeah, vacuum leaks, specifically the crankcase breather hose.

Or water in your fuel. Get Heet.
