I have a 1995 K 1100 LT. I am deciding whether to do my coffee runs in a thermos is the rear box OR if I could do it like the Harley boys do it: get a coffee cup holder for the touring bike. Pros, cons; yeas or nays: recommendations?
I would also like to get a charging mount for my phone -- unless you guys recommend leaving stuff like that on a clear panel on a tank bag.
I know I am not an R/GS with tons of bar farkles but what do we K-Bricks run?
Also, removed my radio so I can yank the radio controls from the handlebars to free up some bar room for a bar farkle.
Any issues with handling?
Thanks in advance.

our consumable liquids can be found in the bottom compartment of our tank bag... and on the soil mother earth left for us...

I bicycle and ride. Bought a couple of these because they fit in bicycle bottle cages with a water bottle cover to keep them rattle free. They have a positive lock so they can lay on their side in the bags. In 5 years I have not had one leak ( if I don't forget to lock it). On a LT You can stick it in the right glovebox if you leave the cover off.
They keep coffee HOT for about 4 hours, still pretty warm after 8.
Not sure if it's a misprint but this list 2oz more then the ones I have but they look identical.

If a thermos is what you're looking for, this thing keeps liquid very hot for 12 hours, and more than warm for 20 hours.

It's too large for a water bottle cage though, but fits holders built for the large swiss fuel canisters.

I have the radio yanked too so I can stow in either storage space on my LT. Great advice.

It more depends on what YOU want.
Want to be able to drink while riding (Flip up helmet?) mount a cup holder.
Cold stuff can be a camel back bladder in the tank bag or on your back.
I usually have a Ranger Rag around my face and neck so don't normally drink while riding so the gatoraid bottle lives either in the tank bag/tragkorbs or main bags.
Man Must Farkle. It's just what your tolerance is as to how much.

I don't have a flip top lid so I guess sipping ain't gonna happen. A coffee sippy cup? With a silly straw?
