My K75S runs really sweetly in the couple of miles after starting and then the low speed running gets lumpy. When it has been going a few miles the engine smells 'hot' even though there is no temperature warning. I just pulled the spark plugs and they do look like they are getting a lean mixture. All points to over lean mixture if I am reading other posts correctly.
The crankcase breather hose has cracks, so I have ordered one of those and I reason that if that is cracked the chances of the throttle to plenum rubber being cracked is quite high, so I put three of them on the same order. I have also bought three injectors off fleabay that are in better outward condition than mine (very rusty) and have sent those off to be cleaned. So I will be tackling those jobs next week and see what difference it all makes.
Question is should I be covering any other angles? I realise that after all these changes would be a good time to beg or borrow a Carbtune and balance the throttles. Am I on the right track?

Cracked up breather hose will make it run like crap/to much air so that has to be part of it.
The airbox to throttlebodies and bodies to head rubber bits could be leaking also so you need to check those.
I left the oil filler plug off once after an oil change and thought the motor had a serious problem. That's the engine sucking air through the breather so clearly it matters.

I bet the new breather hose followed by a throttle body balance will solve your problems.

Rubber bits arrived this morning so snatched a break between the heavy showers to swap the crankcase breather out. Old one was definitely shot. While I was there I sprayed some brake cleaner around while the engine was running and found that spraying near the throttle intakes made no difference but spraying around the injectors resulted in significant increase in revs. I guess this suggests the O-rings on the injectors are not doing their job anymore. Presently waiting for the return of the refurbished set of injectors and I'll change those out before touching anything else.
