Title: ABS Reset

Finally, I have all the crud cleaned from the fuel injection system, new fuel lines and filter and she's running like a hound.  The bike is a '94 K1100RS with ABS.  After getting the fuel system sorted out I was moving the bike out of the garage for a test ride and the ABS went into the alternating flashing mode.  Battery is at 13 + volts and charging well.  I have tried the ABS reset procedure many times but no joy.  (Three wire contact, place a wire in the middle pin, ground it, then press the ABS switch on the dash and turn the ignition key on for 30 seconds.)  I've also double checked all the wiring to see if I knocked something loose but can't see anything out of order.

Any suggestions or alternative procedures I should try?

did you use a led and count the pauses between flashes to see why it stopped working...

I think you need to hold down the ABS switch while you turn on the ignition and hold it for the full count. It has been posted before that sometimes it needs done a few times. Deffo do the LED flash count to work out your fault code.

ABS has been reset.  I went to the Radio Shack and bought one of the LED #276-0011 and wired up a test lamp.  The first time I tried it there was nothing, no light at all.  Retested the LED and it was good.  So I tried a different grounding point and this time the LED burned continuously, no blinking at all.  Hmmm, turned it off, turned it back on and this time both ABS lights were blinking in unison like they should.  I can only presume that my previous attempts at resetting were flawed in some way, or as my wife would say, a BOE (boneheaded operator error). 

In any event, I have a solution and the ABS is back working.  Thanks so much to all on this forum who contribute.

On my '95 the only way I could get the abs to reset was to press and hold the abs switch for 30 seconds immediately after turning on the ignition switch 1st.
