we were on glass mountain... 5 miles from the top... 33 miles from the last intersection on this boxed mountain road...
felt it laying it into a left... knew what it was butts stopped to look... final drive bleeding... o my...
rolled the 33 miles to ca 89... rolled to 30 miles to the 5... rolled about 10 more miles ... made it to the dunsmuir chevron...
got tp the point where i couldnt hold on to it any longer... wrecker in the way... will be installing my lior newly rebuilt final drive by moonlight tonight...

we tried to ride glass mountain twice before... once it had been a hundert degrees for weeks and the day we were to ride it a blizzard blew in and bleed all over shutting down the roads... once the day we were to ride my front brake line busted bleeding dot 4 all over me during the pre ride inspection... today the final drive bleeds...
glass mountain... leaving it behind... somebody else can bleed out up there... we are heeding the warnings and wonts be returning to glass mountain...

Dang.... sorry to hear... I was watching the GPS tracker and wondered why yawl turned around and headed straight out to the 5.
Well at least you have a certified Lior is on Fior final drive...

God you're hard on the equipment...my Clymers says the final drives are darn near bullet proof "with many going 150K without problems."

Just noticed this post BurkBuilds. This area is one of my favorite areas to ride. Also, down around the Dahlonega area.

Dahlonega used to be my favorite ride too, until I had a run in with the native fauna. Protip: never square off with a furious bandersnatch.
On a completely unrelated, off topic side note...
Attempted to tame Glass Mtn in June 2012...failed miserably.
Tried the paved route...fail due to lack of traction.
