At risk of being branded forum pest, I have a question about my seat hardware. I have a corbin (torn to hell) with a front/rear hinge which tilts up. It is fine when latched down but when up it's all over the place. There is a pivot thing on the right side (part of the front hinge.) I've searched for a diagram/picture of what this sits in but came up empty. I live with it, and will create something to hold it in place, but I'm curious what it should rest in. Thanks.

For the front hinge it should be a pin welded to frame, which obviously is missing.

Hard to see anything with the glare...maybe you could shoot some pics at dusk...unless what Inge said is enough -- I'm sure he's right but I can't see ch1t in that pic.

Thanks. Makes sense. I assumed a post should be there. Thought maybe it was part of the rear cowl but that would be too prone to cracking. I'll need to rig something or find a nice person who can spot weld something there. Maybe find a picture of how it should be.
Right now I need a break from the K and am going to go jump in the ocean and soak up some of that glare. My pasty body needs a dose of radiation. And these socal folks need a dose of chest hair and love handles!

It's on the list. Possibly before the world series :deal: If the bike ever decides to stop having electrical and mechanical issues she'll get her nails painted. In the 20 months I've had it I can't remember riding for more than 2 or 3 weeks without something to deal with. "who turned off all the lights?", dice roll starts, bad load shed, bad starter relay, bad starter brushes, frayed wires, vacuum issues, injector issues, brake issues, leaks, rattles, fuel pump issues, damper dissolved to mush, routine maintenance, tires. And sitting in the on deck circle is the water/oil pump seal, rear main, and a timing chain slapping around. This machine has established itself.
Other than that she's a real beaut. Has been a nice hobby, good meditation time, and my transportation for almost 2 years, so I can't complain; but it hasn't won my trust yet, and I doubt this particular engine will. I also live a block from the pacific. Once it begins, the only cure for surface rust is a serious repaint, or just buy a new bike.
