Title: K75s ABS No Start
Post by: Jacksonian068 on April 17, 2014, 09:14:35 AM
Just put my K75s back together (purchased disassembled) and it won't start.  The manuals did not have the proper schematic for the ABS version but now I have that.
The engine turns over but the fuel pump never runs.  The fuel pump relay tests good but it never receives 12v from the ignition control module, I can force 12v at the ICM connector and the pump runs fine.  The other conditions like tranmission in neutral and clutch position are satisfied but those two conditions appear to disable the starter.  My bike does not have a side stand switch.  Is my ICM hosed or am I missing something.  Please help I'm discouraged.

Have you checked fuse #6?

The fuel pump relay doesn't receive 12V+ from the ignition ECU, but the kill switch.

The fuel pump relay coil receives ground via the ignition ECU........
for ~1,5 second when the start button is pushed, and when the
ignition ECU receives hall sensor signals i.e. the engine is turning.

I will check the kill switch tonight. The drawing is a bit hard to read, I cannot see how fuse #1 plays his part.  When I force pin #7 to +12v on the ECU connector the pump runs.

?? No one have mentioned fuse #1.

When I force pin #7 to +12v on the ECU connector the pump runs.

If you do this with ignition or kill switch off, the current would just move in the opposite direction and find
ground via the coils.
If you do this with ignition and kill switch on (and those function as they should)...then you have 12V+ at
both sides of the relay coil...and you have no current flow.

Go here:

That's everything you'll ever need to know about the FI and ignition systems.

I suggest every brick owner download and keep the PDF handy just in case.

I haven't found anything inaccurate in it yet.

Can you point to anything or is it just build differences?

In a connector overwiew and troubleshooting chart....did send a mail to the author ~2 years ago.
Got the answer back that it should be corrected..........but not when.
