Greetings, Comrades!
I have a 1990 K75S with 41,000 miles on it. The fork seal on the right-side fork (from the riding position) started leaking slightly last summer and I decided to change both seals and put some Rancho boots on as well. I did all of the due diligence that I could before starting this job - Clymer's manual, all the posts I could find on this fine site, youtube posts, etc. Felt pretty confident that I could pull it off myself.
My problem arose when I tried to remove the fork seal from the black inner tube. There didn't appear to be a snap ring or holding clip in place and when I tried to gently pry out the seal with a small flat-head, still no luck. So, I purchased a seal puller from Harbor Freight, hoping that this would do the trick. I was able to get the seal out, but I fear that I destroyed my inner tube in the process. Turns out that the inner tube on my bike is a Brembo # 1 454 325. Instead of a snap ring to hold in the seal, there is a little metal lip that is part of the tube itself. The seal sits under this lip and than there is a tiny metal band that sits inside the seal which I assume acts to provide tension to hold the seal in place. Unfortunately, I damaged this lip (see attached photo) when I was trying to get the seal out.
Have any of you folks worked on a Brembo inner tube before? Is my tube ruined for good? Any help that you would provide would be much appreciated.

That definitely looks like a snap ring and the metal part of a seal. Slide the snap ring out by pushing a small screwdriver under it at the end (top of your photo) and popping it out. Then pull out the metal part of the seal.

I see what you are saying and you are correct. The remnants of the seal are still in the tube. But, that spring clip seems like it is welded to the tube as well. Soaked it with some WD-40 and still can't get it too budge. But, I'll keep trying.

A snap ring was used from -88 year model.

I'm surprised you didn't run across how much of a pain in the ass those snap rings are in your research. It's in there. Take a small pick and screw driver and gently lift one side of it and before it gets away get the other one underneath it. Don't damage inside while doing this.

Ok - I got it out. Sorry that I freaked out a bit. I had visions of spending $1000.00 for new forks dancing in my head. That spring clip wouldn't move at all. So, I used a very small jeweler's flathead and lightly tapped it with a hammer until I could pry it free. There are a few nicks around the top of the tube, but I don't think I did any permanent damage. Thanks for your help everyone!

Well, Mystic Red, I'll admit I didn't think it would be that kind of a spring clip. I watched a few videos on youtube and I was expecting to find one of those clips that had a slight indentation in it where you could fit a screw driver and just pry it free. Also, the clip itself was pretty rusted up.
