Hey there, first time here and greeting to you all bikers. I tried to find out how the flasher indicator bulbs work, the thing is that I know the bulb is OK (tested it with a battery) and my flashers work, but only the right side indicator lamp (green) flashes with the turn signals. The left side is just black.. From what I can see in the Circuit schema, the bulb would not cause the flashers not to work if it would have been blown. But as stated, it is not and all the Contacts/surfaces are neat and clean.
The only suspicious part i have found is the 2 connectors to the instrument housing. The one to the left (if sitting on the bike) has som amateur modifications, but they worked with my old instrument unit which had a faulty speedometer. Everything else works, you could say I am a geek, just drive the thing and Close the left Eye when turning left :-)
But it is really unnoying to have only one problem like this, can't get it out of my mind. Any ideas?

So are the actual left side signals flashing? or is it just the inst cluster lamp that's not working.
-
Yes, sorry if I did not get that through, Everything works perfect except the instr cluster flasher indicator lamp. And the bulb works, I tested it. I checked the Contact assembly on the underside of the instrument housing as well. Maybe do that once again..?

Those printed contacts are notorious. Check that first and make sure the flexible printed circuit card flops over the edge of the hole for the base of the bulb. It can't hurt to clean the bare copper and examine the bulb to be sure the prongs on its base aren't damaged.

I've got a couple of temperamental backlight lamps that come and go, and it is the ribbon contact that's the issue.

Thanks guys, sounds like a likely cause (Contact issues) I'll dig out my multimeter.. Electric problems is not a favourite of mine.. :-)
