Title: Bmw k75 clutch cable question and fix (machined npple to hold end if snap)
Post by: Oliver on February 12, 2014, 08:36:30 PM
okay two questions...

Clutch cable just snapped it was a cable for the S bars. I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using clutch cables from different  BMW models. I have used a high handlebar f850 cable before but I was wondering if anyone has tried or knows of any other models with clutch cables that will do the job?
the k bike cables seem to be the most expensive.

Also is it worth it to get featherlight cables rather than OEM?

We machined a nippple with a set screw that pinches the cable and I also bought a new OEM cable. So now if anything does snap I can just put that end on rather than carrying a spare cable

both of those nipple deals can be found in the hillman brand fastner trays at most local ace hardware stores... the cable too...

lawn mower places have them too cause they are choke and throttle cable ends used  on older small engines...
