any way to read abs codes and reset, started acting up on front brake application at slow speeds , activating with no wheel slip,not applying rear at the time of failure. unplugging abs ecu did nothing both brake and abs flash after front and rear brakes are applied for the first time.

love hate... one day i attempted 300 resets... packed my ch1t up and figgered it would be another 6 months before i had the conviction to give it another go...
then for ch1ts i says to my self just 1 more time... freakout... on the 301st reset it took and was good their after...

On most early ABS systems (cars too), the sensors can get glitchy if the gap from the sensor to the toothed wheel gets too large, or if too much grunge gets in the way. It never hurts to pull the sensors,give them a cleaning, and clean the mounting surface before re-installing. That should get the gap correct and eliminate gunk as an issue.

I have to reset my ABS every couple of months, this might be why. Is simple green and a clean rag sufficient to clean the sensor?
I just don't want to damage anything.
Also, I can't seem to break traction on my front wheel and get the ABS to engage. Maybe I'm not going fast enough, but I basically just come to stop. Funny enough, the rear ABS engage pretty quick.
