Great forum I have been lurking for a while to gather information on K bikes. thanks for all the information. Bought a 95 K1100LT weekend before last. havnt rode it much yet but after I get done replaqcing fork seals I will go for it. had lots of bikes but no BMW until now. I also have a V strom so have one to ride while working on the new one.
Again thanks for the information here.

do you have the forks apart yet... the reason i ask is folks are having good luck with the seal mate (http://sealmate.net/)...

Yep the seal mate did the trick. 1500 miles and still dry. :)

Thanks Grimm mine is also a 1995 Morea Green LT...has to work then right??

the seal mate will not fix a f ed up seal... it just cleans out the gunk that causes leakage... if your seal is f ed up you will need a seal job...
when I get a leaker I wipe down the seal and fork tube with atf... seal mate it... replace the fork fluid with honda ss10 suspension fluid...
one vital part of the deal is wiping the fork tube dry to set the seal... repeat till it seats... about 4 or 5 times for me... the whole deal takes about an hour...
has worked every time for me...

Good to know that and just ordered a Seal mate. Figured if the seal was blown then replacement was necessary.
Thanks

Sealmate worked for me also. Best 6 bucks I have ever spent on the K bike. Simple and easy to use.

Thanks to all.

If you have one, save yourself money and use a thin feeler gauge in lieu of the sealmate
