My K75 is nice to ride (of course!) but as the normal case is riding with my wife I think the rear spring+shock absorber should be a bit stronger - because she is so heavy (55 kg / 120 pounds), my weight is ok (100 kg / 220 pounds)... The original is old and a new standard spring+shock absorber would improve the bike for sure, but how about something better? Hagon maybe, Öhlins is so expensive?

Read this thread from the lieberry...

Personally I have a Realm and a Fox, and a Ohlins waiting to be repaired.

Thanks for the link!
Now I know that Öhlins is still far too expensive if available at all, Hagon is not good and Ikon is bad... :hehehe

If the spring can be removed and you know the stock spring numbers you can get a stiffer spring. When you change a spring you should change the valving.
I would look to a professional motorcycle suspension shop. They might be able to rebuild yours or have some options.
Race Tech fixed up my Suzuki GSX1100F rear shock. At some point I will ask them about a rear shock for my K1100RS that is matched to my weight.

I bought Wilbers 630 with 5 years guarantee, hand made and based on the riders weight, passengers weight, baggage weight, riding style, road types etc... Let's see what I'll get after couple of weeks!
But I'm afraid that when I get the new rear spring+shock absorber, the front may be too soft and it'll need replacement, too. That's what happened to my Honda CX... But I'll know that after 5-6 months... :(

I ordered progressive springs for the front and a 465 series rear shock from http://www.progressivesuspension.com/ (http://www.progressivesuspension.com/) for my K100RS. They have heavier springs available for the rear. The cost was very good. Cannot comment on the ride quality as I havent mounted them yet but but the quality looks good and I have read many positive reviews.

My dear lad! Did you actually address the weight of you wife?? In these United States that is taboo. Id say she is a fine weight but anything printed is,to a woman, a horror.

Yes, I'm very brave! And maybe I'll get back in soon, it's getting too cold here outside... :D
But as I said, her weight is obviously the problem not mine... :D

The answer to your problem is simple.
Your wife gets the K75 and you get A k100/1100!

She can't reach the ground from the saddle...
(She's 159 cm / 5 feet 3 inch)

Have you looked at the k75 low seat model/conversion? Both my k75s are low seat -- i like the lower center of gravity). i get chewed out by k100 people for riding a 'girl's bike' -- they say 'there's nothing wring with the k75 that another cylinder won't fix.'
Btw I met a woman in New Hope PA who was riding a Ducati. She is 4 feet 11 inches tall. Se has 6 inch platform riding boots. I was very impressed and told her so.
Btw at 5 feet 3 in/120 lbs your wife's BMI is 21.3, exactly in the middle of the healthy range. Most US husbands would sell their souls for a BMI-normal wife. Count your blessings and find a low-seat k75 :-)

This comfort saddle we now have is rather low but no hope - and she says she likes sit on the back, watch the views and take pics. She has a golden toy buzzing between her legs, though... http://www.vanhamoto.net/2013/05/kullalle-kultaa-eli-vanhan-honda.html (http://www.vanhamoto.net/2013/05/kullalle-kultaa-eli-vanhan-honda.html) :2thumbup:
My self esteem doesn't need any extra power. I like my CX, too! And I didn't like so much Honda XX Blackbird with 200+ hp - okey, it was fun that it accelerated 0 to 100 mph on first gear but I would loose my riding license very fast, too.... When I was younger I was in a hurry all the time and needed all the horsepower available but not anymore. I was thinking K100 but I liked the sound of 3 cylinders...
Yes, her body delights me every time I see her http://www.vanhamoto.net/p/kuvia.html (http://www.vanhamoto.net/p/kuvia.html) - only problem is that I have serious heart problems...
