I've been perusing motobrick for a good while so I figured it was time to join. I'm from salt lake city, and just picked up a 1993 k1100lt a few months ago. It is my first k bike, but not my first BMW or my first bike. It was an impulse buy off craigslist, 80k miles, and beat to hell but running. I made it my winter bike and am planning a full teardown and rebuild cafe style in the spring.
So far
2 oil changes
Cleaned and synced throttle bodies
Replaced all vacuum lines
Replaced all fuel lines
Changed all fluids
Bypassed and removed ABS with braided steel lines
New tires
Removed all fairings and radio etc
Removed 92lbs!
Corrected a lot of wiring
Probably more I'm leaving out
So far it has been a sweet ride. I've taken it on a couple small trips mixed hwy and off road and it has been a blast.

Digging the Scrambler look!
You still running LT wheels or are those RS wheels?
What brand and size tires?

Welcome aboard. Years ago, I used to live just a little south of SLC. I really miss that area.

Those look like LT wheels to me. Lookin' for a mini fairing like that giant dirt bike next door to ya to hide the cluster?

Thanks! That's really what I was going for. Yep they are the Lt tri spokes but I'd love to switch to some spoked GS style or snowflake wheels, never been a big tri spoke fan. Idk if that is possible?
Yeah salt lake is a great place, lots of fun trails and good roads all though many of the trails aren't legal to ride anymore.
Mistic red: yep I'm dying to find a better solution for the headlight and gauge area, I initially wanted to find a headlight bucket and cluster and mini cowling piece from an older naked style k bike (like the second one from the left on the top of the page) but I do need something. Either a smaller aftermarket cluster (my tach is somewhat erratic anyway) or a small windshield or both. I don't mind riding a naked bike around town but at 65mph + the wind gets a little rough. Anyone have any ideas?
