Title: Best Switched Wire to Tap for a Relay?
Post by: AR-Trvlr on June 25, 2013, 07:23:48 AM
I'm going to add a circuit to power a powerlet on my dash and power a GPS.  I'd like them to be switched if possible - what's a good wire to tap to switch a relay?  Any suggestions?

Take a look at the wiring diagrams in the library. I use one of the ones on the "auxiliary equipment connector"

I used the "Anti-theft" connector. Of the hot leads on that is switched, and one is not.

Found this thread while trying to determine where to hard-wire my GPS mount. I'm going to install an AMPS mount through the K75S handlebar bumper; particularly through one of the auxiliary switch cut-out's. Everything should work. And yes, if this applies to any of you out there, the BMW Navi V will work with this Garmin "specific" mount. More to follow!

I used the green/black wire in the  'extra equipment' plug for my add-on LED driving lights.
