First thing I did when I bought my 87 K-75S seven years ago was to buy a new stock factory seat to replace a Corbin. Best purchase ever. Handling improved dramatically. Just noticed a slight crack in seat. Anybody know the best way to preserve a factory seat?

if it were me i would find a local upholstery shop who is experienced with boats or recreational vehicles and give them a go...

I think you're the first person to like the factory seat.... that I know of:D

Really? I Love the seat. It's got enough room front to back that you can slide a little up or back which, for me, greatly reduces fatigue on long trips. Plus, and I know this sounds a bit odd, I'm able to grip the seat when I lean into a curve. With the Corbin, I would just slide from side to side. Anyway what I'm wondering is, does anyone use Armorall or the like to help protect the seat?

has anyone tried smearing their seat with vaseline...

Armorall? No way. It's mucho slippery..
But if yer tired of the Corbin seat I call dibs! :2thumbup:

Search a product called Blak.... awesome stuff. ... Not slickery.

There are repair kits for seat material on fleabay and at your local marine supply store. You can fix the crack yourself and it should hold up for maybe a year.

Permatex 81781 vinyl repair kit works reasonably well. about $13 on amazon or may be available locally.

Aerospace Protectant 303. THE duck's guts. Not slippery. Got a Sun Protection Factor of 40. You won't go near Amor All after using this stuff!
