Title: brake lever leaking
Post by: david_hawkins on May 15, 2013, 02:58:14 PM
So the boy gently laid over his K75S in the parking lot... Started to go, but couldn't hold it... Damn. Anyway, when he applies brake pressure, it starts to form a small drip of brake fluid on the under side of the brake handle assembly... What am I in for to get this fixed? Bent his brake lever to... :(

From your description, it's not entirely clear whether the fault might be limited to the master cylinder/reservoir, which is one assembly, or the throttle assembly which also holds the brake lever. Can you determine if the bend/break/etc is limited to one or the other?

In any case, I see several sets of the whole right-hand throttle+brake assembly on eBay, for $150-200. If you're lucky, you'll get one that's good and operational as-is. You might, when you get it, also find that you need a master cylinder rebuild kit, about $70 at BeemerBoneyard.
