This is a completely awesome website (wish I found it earlier). I owned some websites in the past and I've been a moderator on some websites as well. This place is well put together gentlemen, thank you.
My wife and I both work 2 jobs just living the dream: zero debt.
I can't wait to get my brick running again. It's at the shop right now (been there for a couple of weeks already). I think it's time to go pick it up and trailer her back home. Hell with a little luck and some help from my friends I think we can get her moving again?

Thanks guys. The local dealer says they aren't sure yet exactly what's wrong with her. They 'think' it's the fuel pump.
The only other thing that I'm aware of that needs fixing is the gear indicator & neutral switch.

Well crap. I'm beginning to feel like the local dealership doesn't really want my business. They've now had my brick more than 3 weeks and still cannot tell me what's wrong with it. I call every Friday for an update and they can't tell me anything, other than "they think" it's a fuel pump. All I can get is "expensive" and "we're working on a price for you" (whatever that means). I called last Friday and they were "busy pulling bikes in" before closing. They guy told me he didn't have time to look up my estimate right then and there but he promised that he would call me back first thing Saturday morning with the estimate. You may have guessed it but Saturday was a no call scenario.
I'm off today (from both jobs) and of course they are closed on Mondays. My pal Chuck told me we should just go get the bike and take it to his house for us to fix her up?
Thoughts? I don't mind paying for something but I also feel like 3+ weeks for an estimate is bullshit..

Bring. Her. Home.
You'll find all the help you need on this forum to diagnose your bike. If it is indeed a fuel pump, that's quick to confirm. Could also be a plugged or exploded fuel filter, also quick to confirm, and much cheaper to fix.
Also, there's various threads on here with cheaper fuel pump options involving automotive fuel pumps and adapter bushings. You have options.

unless they have a tech who presently rides motobricks they dont know ch1t about motobricks... they are back burner because they are lost and dont care...
i know people who have left motobricks at dealers for months and paid hundreds of dollars and it still not be sorted...
you would be better off taking it home and set up camp with your laptop as your guide...

Do not ignore your "3+weeks" feeling. I'm not much into wrenching but the fuel pump probs. have been well written about on here. There is an answer here!
These guys around here are experts.... Better than at most shops for sure.
Keep us informed, we love reading this stuff.
I need to look up that ABS reset "kit". Ask your dealer about that one! Ha!

Yes. She's coming home. I plan on picking her up WED AM regardless of what they say. I'll be more than happy to pay them for whatever "time" they actually have working on it.

Welllllllllllllllllllllll better late than never I guess. The local shop only took 5 weeks to return my ride to me, I was FURIOUS. They absorbed MOST of the labor charges so I basically paid for a $408 fuel pump plus other misc stuff.
The bottom line is that this is a bittersweet experience. I am really happy to have my BRICK back. I've been riding her every single day - even when it's raining. My 20 year old kid loves it as well, she's says it's much more comfortable than the Honda I have. She and I went on a ride the other day and when we got done she asked when I was going to show her how to ride? My reply was just as soon as you get a permit.
As I was closing my store today this guy pulled up on a k75. He saw my k100 and pulled over just to chat. He works at a car dealership across the street so we'll go ride sometime soon?
All is good, so far. I've got some more learning to do on this website so bear with me...
