Title: Aftermarket instruments
Post by: billday on May 05, 2013, 09:57:34 PM
I've been thinking about replacing my big old box with an aftermarket instrument setup.

Does anyone here have any experience to share?

Thanks in advance.

My odometer failed from the plastic gears stripping out. The speedo then quit registering as well. I pulled the whole left side of the gauge cluster on my 85 K100. I'm using a Koso multifunction gauge now, which works pretty well. Here's a pic. Let me know if you need info on how to hook it up.

greetings fadingfastsd..

im thinking lock your throttle... ease your butt back on the passenger seat... slide your feet back to the passenger pegs... take your hands off the handlebars... snap some action photos of that thing...

Larry with http://www.specialks.net/ (http://www.specialks.net/) has figured it out. Might drop him a line.

Yeah, same!
I am just after a tacho really. I want to mount up a 3 inch one front and centre, next to the original water temp gauge on my race bike project.
I've seen some universal ones at the auto parts store... I guess they should work? 4 cylinder 4 stroke engine is a pretty common engine format. Haven't looked at where they get their signal from or anything...
But is there any specific BMW / motorcycle / k series thing that'll stop it working properly?....
