Doing the final maintenance to my 86 K75C before it vacates the lift. Checking valve clearance and find the results too consistent. Just seems odd. Bike has just under 30,000 miles.
Intake Clearances (1,2,3) - 0.15mm, 0.15mm, 0.15mm
Intake shim sizes (1,2,3) - 2.60mm, 2.60mm, 2.60mm
Exhaust Clearances (1,2,3) - 0.31mm, 0.31mm, 0.31mm
Exhaust shim sizes (1,2,3) - 2.50mm, 2.50mm, 2.45mm
Question 1 - Intake valve clearances are at the minimum clearance (0.15mm to 0.20mm). I would assume it would be preferable to move these clearances to the maximimum. Therefore, exchange the 2.60mm shims for 2.55mm shims.
Question 2 - All the clearances are just a bit looser than maximum (0.25mm to 0.30mm). Since shims normally only come in increments of 0.05mm, tightening these up with the next thicker shim would put me almost at the tightest of the range. Should I leave these alone as is? Or change them to the next thicker and have the clearance at 0.26mm?
It was my understanding that problems occur when the valve clearances get tight.
Some guidance please.

I'd leave as is and check again in 10-12k miles. the exhaust being on the loose side is a good thing since they tend to run hotter and will have more cooling time in the seat. The intakes are cooled by the gas and are good to run a little on the tight side, you even may gain a little oomph by them staying open longer. Yours are suspiciously consistent, usually one or two are weird. Consider yourself lucky!

OK, buttoned it back up, sync'd the throttle bodies, and went for a ride. Holy Mooly, it's like a new ride. Although the real change was a working clutch.
