Any thoughts on coating a pair of used engine guards/crash guards with bed liner? I'm thinking it would hide the scratches and is less expensive than re chroming. How might it affect the deformation in an at speed situation? Combustion issues?
-
I would also consider how liable it is to peel off of the chrome...
Otherwise, I think it is a great idea.
Deformation at speed?
Combustion? More likely it would melt and run than burn.

Wait, did you mean on the engine itself?
I would bet that would fail for the heat.
-
Where can I find a set of engine guards for my '94 K75 Standard? I know this doesn't answer your ? but I can't seem to find any anywhere. Thanks.

I presume you are trying to be funny... Shame it didn't work.
The bars and it won't come off the chrome because I would prep the bars for a clean surface for the material to adhere to.

Dealer may be able to get a new set. Beemer Boneyard Re-Psycle or another used BMW part dealer may come up with a set. Other than that, scour Fleabay, IBMWR Marketplace or, if you're a member, BMWMOA FleaMarket section
