Just stripped and e-coated my stand and after looking at it it is wearing on the bottom. Has anyone reinforced theirs? I am thinking of welding a 3/4 by 1/4 inch plate over the welds, I do not believe there will be interference. Suggestions?

My center stand has the same wear pattern on the bottom rear. I haven't taken any action yet but I'd be interested in what you do.
-
Do you mean the wear where the stand meets the ground?
I'm wondering if welding on any metal piece not curved exactly as the stand's legs are might structurally weaken the stand.
It might make things sturdier when the bike is sitting on the stand, but the motion/action of rocking the bike to and from that position could stress the original welds.

Not strictly a reinforcement, rather a reconstruction.

I too am not clear where you plan to reinforce. Did you mean "over the bends"?
The more I think about it, the more I like that rebuild thread from the K100 site.
Strengthening one part of the stand's tube steel would move the stress to the unstrengthened part. You would presumeably need to reinforce the entire curve...
Added weight affecting the retaining spring.
What would happen if you welded beads along the stand to ground contact area, where I assume this wear is occuring. wouldn't that add material to the area where the steel is wearing away?

I don't know if he reinforced it, but my center stand was shortened by the PO. Will look next time I am on the bike.

How do you feel the length adjustment has affected the stand function? Would you want it back to original? Are there many cons as opposed to pros to having it shortened?
I blew out my right achilles this last summer which really makes the 1100lt stand a PITA.
You would be the coolest person of the day if you would post the length. It would be great to determine how much the PO cut off. It might be a legitimate option for cmichael as well.
P.S. Has anyone else not been able to use the spell check function here for the last four days?

In the picture you can see the wear(yellow arrow). I plan to take a piece of quarter inch by 3/4 inch flat bar and weld it along the bottom of the stand were it contacts the ground when down. Essentially,I will follow the radius of the stand a couple inches past the "bend".
In theory I will have 1/4 more(15 years) of wearable stock before it degrades the stand???

Like I said, the PO did it so I do not know what it was like as stock. I can tell you that the bike is super easy to put on the center stand. I normally don't ever have to use the grab handle to assist me. Just drop the stand and put some weight on it with my right foot. I like it, but can see that I may have a little more of a challenge than most brick owners when I remove my rear wheel. No question that having the center stand on a board will be a big plus for me.
I will be happy to post the length of the stand for you. Might even snap a picture. Give me a few days. Got to find my camera and charge the battery.
