Thanks to this great site and good people to purchase parts from, I am finishing up getting a 1992 K75 back to life after sitting neglected for a few years. Last task was to refit the hard luggage. They have had a hard life but are still usable, problem is the bike came without a key for the boxes! Are keys generic, or does this mean new lock sets?
Thanks for all the good advice.

Try the one for the ignition. They should be the same.

Many times the keys are different.
Take them to a locksmith and they can make you a key. Last time I did that (several years ago) it cost me about $40. Be sure to take both cases and make sure the key works in all six locks before leaving the locksmith.

If you are in/near the Seattle area I could help you cut a key.
If you want to mail just the lock to me by breaking the rivets I could do it as well.
There is a BMW dealership here, I bet they could sell some key blanks.
Let me know.

BMW dealerships can order the blank BMW folding keys if they don't have them in stock. I bought some online from Bob's BMW.
