The bike this came on had a bad front end so I haven't ridden on it so all I can vouch for condition-wise is that it's not leaking.  If it does need to be rebuilt then it''s my understanding that Works charges something like $80-90 for a rebuild. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on this.)

Your guesstimate on Works' rebuild quote is accurate.  I was told last fall that a basic rebuild for the one that was on my '94 K1100RS would be $85, with the cost increasing if I needed any parts replaced or swapped it to standard height.  (Full rebuild and convert short to regular was ~$210 if I recall.)
