Title: Disconnect center stand from it's mounting bracket?
Post by: frankenduck on February 09, 2013, 07:05:54 PM
Anybody done it?  What's the secret?  I've tried a few times but those bolts seem pretty darn stubborn so I gave up and didn't bother.

Those bolts is secured with Loctite, heat is needed.

Thanks.  Must be that same crap they use on the rear rotor bolts. :loco:

Just took mine apart a couple weeks ago for powder coating.Did not take much heat at all.
Interesting how much rusty dust came out of the tubes.I wacked along the tubes to make sure everything was solid...it was.

Took them apart on my K75 years ago to clean and re-grease.  I wasn't getting any grease through the holes for the intended purpose so I thought I'd clean them up.  I don't remember using any heat but I prolly used a hammer!
