Hi guys i have just noticed that the coolant reservoir next to the battery id missing and the hose has been crimped. is this bad
-
Can't see what harm that would cause. But I would fix it if I were you just for peace of mind.
-
I will replace it but now i wonder if there was some problem with it any ideas or im i just being paranoid.
also does any body know a cheep place to get one or the part # for it and name.
-
It could be that the seal(s) in the radiator cap was going. If that's the case then those are easy and inexpensive to replace.
No need to be paranoid unless the bike is overheating.
Buy a used one on Fleabay.

Silly question but that item on fleabay is for a K75S will it fit on a K75RT
-
Yup. :2thumbup:
-
On a similar note - I have noticed that the right hand side / knee panel has crushed and 'cut' the rubber Overflow Tank cap? What impact - if any - would this have on my '86 K75s?
-
If mine is missing it and it has been working i would imagine that you should be fine
-
It might let rainwater/dust into the reservoir.
Part 17111465286 - about $6-7 new.
-
Thanks guys, i'll get a new one and try to round off the panel to stop it 'cutting' again :)
Cheers!
-
Nothing should be causing that.
Post up a pic of how your reservoir is mounted please.
-
Sure, i'll take a photo tonight when I get home from work :)
