Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I've got a '91 K100 RS. This bike was given to me last year in pretty good shape but the owner told me the ABS wasn't working. I got some manuals and fit a new battery. The ABS light would never come on and the triangular red light would flash. I pulled the ABS control thinking that was the problem. :dunno2: I looked around for someone to fix it to no avail. By chance (and google) I found a guy in Japan who's an expert and does nothing but repair the control units. After a few e-mails I sent my box 'o brains to be tested and repaired. As it turned out the control unit was OK and the fault was a relay. I know, I should have checked that first :loopy: but the local BMW dealer mechanic told me that it was the control unit so I took his word for it.

He's a straight shooter and kept me informed by e-mail as soon as my unit arrived. Since the c/u didn't need any repair he only charged me a testing fee that was 1/3 of his normal repair price, which was an unexpected and pleasant favor. He tests the repaired customer units on his own bike for two days and I think his repair guarantee is for 6 months.
When the unit came back from Japan I fitted a new relay and the ABS is now working 100%. I looked on this forum but didn't find any mention of this fellow's service. My apologies in case this was already a topic.

I had the pleasure of the same experience. Sent the Brain to Japan and after testing, turned out to be a working brain with an error 6. Relay error. I was also told that the problem was with the brain. I tested the unit myself and got an error code 6. I was unable to reset it and the brain can cause this fault so, I was wrong. Great guy, and he lesson is: Trust is earned no longer given for a title, or credential.

I had Tosi repair my ABS brain after performing all the on-line diagnostics I could find and conferring with him on what I found.
Yes, he is a straight shooter and repaired it. Over five years now without any hint of a problem.
I recommend him without reservation for anyone with an ABS problem.

It's also nice to see that he is now able to work on ABS2 ECU's.

Hi to all:
New to the forum (have been nosing around a few times before buying my K75S. Great forum, very knowledgeable people.
I also had the ABS control unit repaired by Tosi-san. Very straightforward process, took in total 3 weeks, from the moment I shipped the unit to Japan, for 25$ (thanks to USPS).
I have one question regarding the ABS brain: why do those transistors blow up? Is it there an issue with overloading? In any case, happy that there are no blinking red lights in the dash.

Not knowing what transistor in what circuit, my gut instinct would tend to think that trying to start a bike with a borderline battery could have a potential damaging affect on the ABS controller, with voltage spikes/surges.
