Title: side stand modification
Post by: Howard64180 on February 01, 2013, 02:11:14 PM
I have just attempted the following side stand modification on a K1100RS:
http://classickbikes.com/ckb/my_k_bikes/07_94k1100rs_old/k1100rs_mods.htm#sidestandext (http://classickbikes.com/ckb/my_k_bikes/07_94k1100rs_old/k1100rs_mods.htm#sidestandext)
Works well, too.  Until, that is, I try to put the side stand up/down with the centre stand up, or try to get the centre stand down with the side stand up!  The stands now interfere with each other.  what I need to do is get someone to hold the bike so I can see what's going on, but in the meantime any ideas on what I've done wrong please?

You need to trim it at a 45 degree angle below the side stand's "foot" to keep it from interfering with the center stand.  The inner and rear sides if I recall correctly.

Also, for my K75 I used 1" HDPE because it's more durable than hockey puck rubber.

That was quick.  Many thanks.
