the Hall_Effect_Sensor _Test_K100.pdf in this 1st post is INCORRECT because the positive and negative terminals in its diagram and text have been incorrectly labeled. it is left here for historical purposes...
the BertVogelK100TroubleShootingStarting.pdf in this 1st post is right... added 3/30/2016 for historical purposes...
look at reply#2 where the original author has corrected the original post pdf...The positive and negative terminals are correctly labeled in that one.
look at reply#5 in this thread for the right attachment... thanks bert vogel (http://hrsbstaff.ednet.ns.ca/bvogel/K100/download/bike-wont-start1.htm)...
there you go...

Another file from Damun concerning that pesky HES going south.

I came into a small stash of HES -they test good cold and at 200 F.
Am I correct that the one on the left is for the K75, and the one on the right, with evenly spaced picklups is for the K100, K1, K1100 LT & RS?

Just came across DrBMX posting of my 2009 article on HES testing.
Noted a glaring error caused by my lysdexia.
In the diagrams, I reversed polarity, which would give false results -- namely, the LED would stay on when you stuck a knife into the slot.
Here is the proper polarity on an easily-rigged tester & the plug:

I would suggest that you may be correct with that analysis....
-
You are correct. The K75 has 120 ° offset for the 3 cylinder, the K100,etc has 180 ° for 4. The sensors themselves are interchangeable.

The DAMUNdocument on MOTOBRICK differs with Vogel's K100 document because the + and - terminal labels are the opposite of the Vogel drawing. Terminals 3 and 4 on Vogel's drawing.
The positive and negative terminals are incorrectly labeled on this diagram. The positive should be on the right side and the negative should be on the left side.

This diagram in Bert Vogel's K100 troubleshooting has the correct positions of the positive and negative terminals.
